HON. ESEWEZIE HOLDS STRATEGIC SECURITY MEETING WITH TRADITIONAL RULERS, SEEKS COLLABORATION AHEAD OF OSHIMILI NORTH SECURITY SUMMIT

As part of sustained efforts to strengthen the security architecture of Oshimili North Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman of the Council and APC Flag Bearer for the Delta State House of Assembly, Oshimili North Constituency, Olorogun Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, convened a high-level strategic meeting with traditional rulers across the Local Government Area.


The meeting was attended by HRM Obi (Prof.) Louis Chelunor Nwoboshi, Obuzor of Igbuzo; HRM Dr. Obi Michael Mbanefo, Ugoani of Okpanam; HRM Obi Paul Odilile Opili, Onu of Ebu; HRM Igwekani Obi Ifeanyi Clement Ejiofor, Traditional Ruler of Ukala; and HRM Obi Dr. David Azuka, Traditional Ruler of Akwukwu-Igbo, who was represented by Chief Joseph Iwegbu, President General of Akwukwu-Igbo.
The engagement brought together revered monarchs and key community leaders to deliberate on proactive strategies for combating crime, promoting intelligence sharing, and strengthening peace and security across all communities in Oshimili North.


Addressing the royal fathers, Hon. Esewezie briefed them on the forthcoming Oshimili North Security Summit, scheduled for Friday, 26 June, and Saturday, 27 June 2026. He explained that the summit would provide a strategic platform for traditional institutions, security agencies, government officials, community leaders, and other critical stakeholders to develop practical, community-driven solutions to emerging security challenges and establish a coordinated framework for the protection of lives and property.


The Council Chairman also highlighted the proposed Delta State Community Policing Initiative, which received the endorsement of the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, during the recent State Security Meeting. He noted that the initiative is designed to strengthen grassroots security by fostering greater collaboration between local communities and conventional security agencies, thereby improving intelligence gathering, rapid response, and crime prevention.


In their separate remarks, the traditional rulers commended Hon. Esewezie for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to the peace, security, and sustainable development of Oshimili North. They pledged their full support for the forthcoming Security Summit and reaffirmed their readiness to work closely with the local government, security agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure a safer and more secure Oshimili North for all residents.
