OSHIMILI NORTH LGA CHAIRMAN HOSTS VIGILANTE GROUP OF NIGERIA IN STRATEGIC SECURITY ENGAGEMENT

In a clear demonstration of decisive leadership and unwavering commitment to grassroots security, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, on Monday received a delegation of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) on a courtesy visit at the Council’s Liaison Office in Ibusa.

The visit is a testament of the strategic resolve of the Esewezie administration to deepen collaboration with community-based security structures as a critical pillar in the ongoing drive to secure lives, protect property, and entrench lasting peace across Oshimili North.

As a mark of solidarity and confidence in the Chairman’s security-focused governance, the Vigilante Group of Nigeria presented goodwill gifts to Hon. Esewezie, commending his administration’s proactive stance on security and grassroots development.

In his address, the Council Chairman warmly welcomed the delegation and applauded the VGN for their patriotic service in complementing conventional security agencies. He reaffirmed his administration’s firm readiness to partner with the Vigilante Group in strengthening intelligence gathering, enhancing community surveillance, and ensuring swift response to emerging security threats within the local government.

Hon. Esewezie emphasized that security remains a non-negotiable priority of his administration, stressing that no meaningful development can thrive in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity. He charged the Vigilante Group to sustain their operations with professionalism, discipline, and strict adherence to the rule of law, assuring them of the Council’s continued support within available resources.

Also present at the meeting were the Director General of Security, Oshimili North LGA, Mr. Ifeanyi Eze, and the Special Assistant to the Chairman on Policy Orientation, Pastor Kenneth Nwabuwa.
