ONE MONTH AFTER SURGERY, ESEWEZIE PROVIDES FREE EYE CHECKUP FOR BENEFICIARIES OF EYE SURGERY
In line with global best practices and medical requirements, follow-up care is an essential component especially for patients who have undergone surgical procedures.
It will be recalled that in Oshimili North LGA of Delta State, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie, organized a free 14-day medical and surgical outreach from July 14th to 27th, 2025. During the program, nearly 200 successful surgeries were performed, including 45 eye surgeries.

As part of the post-surgery care, beneficiaries having been taking advantage of the opportunity provided for reassessment, reevaluation, and further medication where necessary, at all PHCs within the Council Area in the past few weeks after surgery. This compassionate extension of Medicare has brought great joy to the patients, who expressed deep gratitude for the gesture.
For beneficiaries of eye surgery, a special eye checkup was conducted yesterday, Saturday July 16 at two healthcenters; Ibusa PHC and Okpanam PHC. At the conclusion of the exercise, all patients were certified fit, counseled to adhere strictly to medical advice for the next two months, and officially discharged.

To ensure sustained care and communication, a dedicated WhatsApp group was created. Through this platform, beneficiaries have continued to shower encomiums, prayers, and heartfelt appreciation on the Council Chairman and his medical team, Dr Ruth Nkeaka, Chairman Local Health Authority Board; Dr Victor Ajudua, Executive Secretary Local Health Authority; Favour Olimma and all heads of PHC’s for their dedication and humanity.
