Governor Oborevwori Advocates For LGA Financial Autonomy
Thursday 29 of February, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori held a Valedictory and JAAC Session with the 25 LGA Council Chairmen at the Government House, Asaba.
The Governor commended the outgoing Chairmen, whose tenure in Office would elapse on the 8th of march, for ensuring that the grassroot feel the impact of the dividends of democracy noting that since assuming office as the Governor of the State, he observed that Council Chairmen were commissioning projects across the 25LGAs of the State.
While commending the Council Chairmen for their resilience and dedication towards execution of these people-oriented projects across their Council Area, the Governor stated that he has not interfered with the activities of the Chairmen saying that “I am in full support of local government financial autonomy”.
Speaking further, Oborevwori hinted that elections into the council will be held soon and the Party should be warming up for the Ward, LGA and State Congresses.
