16-05-2024
WARD 5 IBUSA: The Ugonwa Ibusa and Ezinwajiani 1 of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie on Thursday at his ward, declared his intention to contest for Chairman in the upcoming Local Government election.
Recall that Oshimili North LGA Party leaders had recently endorsed the returning Council Chairman for second term and he deemed it necessary to brief his immediate constituents as well as officially declare his intention to contest the July election.
The venue was filled to the brim with members of the Peoples Democratic Party present in their numbers in support of the Ibusa high chief. The ward leaders led by Chief Emma Nwanze, the PDP ward 5 chairman took a detour down memory lane to analyse the first 3 years of Hon. Esewezie in office. He informed party faithfuls of the benefits of returning the him having shown a willingness to make the LGA better through infrastructural growth and many more.
Similarly, many ward leaders, women leaders and the youth representative spoke glowingly about the first tenure of the Ugonwa Ibusa and lent their support for continuation. The highlight of the meeting was the public endorsement of Hon Esewezie and the two ward councillors, Hon. Hillary Okobi and Hon. (Mrs) Augustina Odogwu for a deserved second term.
Hon. Innocent Esewezie thanked the people for their continued support. He noted that long speeches was unnecessary especially since the people have shown massive support to him and the work his administration put in to deliver on his campaign promises. He assured the people of his intention to continue to take Oshimili North LGA to greater heights and called on them to continue to support the administration of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State who have done so well for the state in less than a year in office.
The event was well attended as Hon Esewezie was joined by a happy crowd in dancing and celebrating greater milestones to come.
