Ibusa Peace, Reconciliation and Truth Committee Submits Report

The 25-man Ibusa Peace, Reconciliation and Truth Committee which was chaired by Chief Roland Nwanze has submitted it’s Report to the Oshimili North Council Administration.

Recall that the committee, which was an expansion of the 3-man Dr Austin Obidi-led Ibusa Peace Reconciliation Committee earlier inaugurated on 5th of July 2023, was inaugurated by the Executive Council Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie on 18th of September 2023 and tasked to resolve the traditional crisis between Oda-Ukwu and Odafe Isi-Uzor; meet with the Diokpas of the 10 Ogbes; interphase with Umueze quarter concerning the Odogwuship; and mobilize support for the proposed ONLGA Public and Private Properties Protection Bill, 2023 (which has now been Passed and Signed into Law).

Receiving the Committee’s Report, the Executive Council Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie expressed and conveyed written appreciations to the committee members, while thanking them for sacrificing their support, finances and time for the love of Ibusa. He assured that his administration will look into the Report and employ it as a Working Document not just in Ibusa but also, hopefully, other communities across the Council Area.

You will also recall that at the completion of the Phase 1 of the Committee’s task, it’s Chairman, Chief Roland Nwanze conveyed his decision to stepdown as Committee Chairman and subsequently excused himself as member with effect from 18th of October 2023 citing personal reasons occasioned by the widely circulated accusation capable of tarnishing his name and hard-earned reputation.
