NYIPGG HONOURS ESEWEZIE FOR EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP; CONFERS “CHIEF DOYEN OF NIGERIAN YOUTH” TITLE

…Recognition of grassroots impact, youth development and people-centred leadership inspires renewed commitment to service

IBUSA, August 11, 2026 – The Nigerian Youth Initiative for Peace and Good Governance (NYIPGG) has honoured the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Olorogun Innocent Esewezie, with an Award and Medal of Excellence for his contributions to grassroots development, youth advancement, good governance, humanitarian service and the welfare of the people. The organisation also conferred on him the honorary title of “The Chief Doyen of Nigerian Youth,” describing the recognition as an appreciation of his commitment to people-centred leadership and community development.

Presenting the honours during a courtesy visit to the Oshimili North Local Government Council Liaison Office, the organisation commended the Council Chairman for his unique leadership style, workers’ welfare initiatives, support for youths and students, educational interventions, transparency and philanthropic disposition. The group also presented an award of recognition to the management and staff of Oshimili North Local Government Area for their collective contribution to effective service delivery and the development of the council, while urging continued support for vulnerable groups, including internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Receiving the Awards, Olorogun Esewezie expressed profound appreciation to the organisation for the recognition and confidence reposed in his administration. He described the honour as both an appreciation of past efforts and a greater responsibility to deepen his commitment to youth empowerment, education, peace, good governance and humanitarian causes. He also acknowledged the dedication of the council’s management and staff, noting their vital role in translating government policies and programmes into tangible benefits for residents.

The honour, he stressed, would further inspire him to remain accessible to the people and committed to impactful leadership. The NYIPGG, in turn, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting responsible leadership, youth participation, peace and good governance across Nigeria. For Olorogun Esewezie, the recognition is not the end of the journey, but a renewed call to service—more responsibility, more impact and greater commitment to the people.
