HON. INNOCENT ESEWEZIE CONFERRED WITH PRESTIGIOUS OVI’OMO CHIEFTAINCY TITLE OF UDU KINGDOM

UDU – It was a moment of honour, culture, and celebration as the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Ifeanyichukwu Esewezie, was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of OVI’OMO of Udu Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Engr. Michael Ogheneovo Orugbo, JP, KP, Okporua I, the revered Ovie of Udu Kingdom.

The colourful ceremony, which was held at the Royal Palace in Udu Kingdom, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, on Friday, June 5, 2026, attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including traditional rulers such as the Obi of Ukala Kingdom, HRM Igwekani (Capt.) Ifeanyi Clement Ejiofor (Rtd.), KSC, JP, and the Obi of Atuma-Iga Kingdom, HRM Agbogidi Obi Daniel Chukwuka Ogbudo. Also in attendance were political leaders, government officials, community stakeholders, family members, friends, and well-wishers from Oshimili North LGA, Delta State, and beyond.

The conferment was in recognition of Hon. Esewezie’s exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment to grassroots development, promotion of peace and unity, and outstanding contributions to public service and community advancement.

The event also featured the conferment of the chieftaincy title of ESE of Udu Kingdom on his beloved wife, Chief Mrs. Flora Esewezie. The occasion was marked by traditional rites, cultural displays, goodwill messages, and royal blessings, all of which highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Udu Kingdom.

The honour marks another significant milestone in the life of Hon. Esewezie and stands as a testament to his enduring impact on society and dedication to the service of humanity.

It is noteworthy that Hon. Esewezie’s late father, Olorogun Dike Esewezie, also held a prestigious chieftaincy title as the OMAMOMO of Udu Kingdom, further highlighting the longstanding bond between the Esewezie family of Ibusa in Oshimili North LGA and the people of Udu Kingdom.
