ONLGA APPOINTS HRM PAUL OPILI AS CHAIRMAN, TRADITIONAL RULERS COMMITTE; PROMISES A BEFITTING SECRETARIAT

IBUSA: The Oshimili North Local Government Council has appointed HRM Obi Paul Opili as Chairman of the Traditional Rulers and Chiefs Committee, signaling strong respect for cultural institutions and inclusive governance.

The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North LGA announced the decision at a meeting with monarchs while highlighting traditional rulers’ crucial role as custodians of culture, peace, and moral authority.

In his Congratulatory Speech, Hon. Innocent Esewezie urged him to lead with wisdom and fairness while strengthening ties between the council and traditional institutions.

Esewezie further pledged his administration’s continued support for the monarchs and announced plans to construct a modern, dedicated Council Secretariat for traditional rulers; a permanent symbol of respect and a dignified venue for their advisory functions.

The royal fathers commended the Chairman’s culturally sensitive leadership, reaffirmed their loyalty, and promised full cooperation to promote peace, security, and sustainable development across Oshimili North.
