COUNCILLORS, LEADERS’ FORUM CONGRATULATES HON. HENRY OLOWO-LED PRINCIPAL OFFICERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE ARM
AKWUKWU-IGBO: The Delta State Forum of Councillors and House Leaders on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, paid a courtesy visit to Oshimili North Local Government Area, where they were warmly received by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, and the newly inaugurated Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Henry Olowo.

The delegation, comprising principal officers and House Leaders from various local government areas across the state, visited to formally congratulate Hon. Olowo on his emergence as Leader of the Council Legislature and to express solidarity with the council amid its ongoing internal reorganisation.

During the visit, the Forum strongly condemned the acts of indiscipline and disorder that accompanied the violent impeachment of the former Leader, which led to the suspension of some councillors. They stressed the importance of due process, mutual respect, and strict adherence to the rule of law in legislative matters, while pledging full support for the new leadership.

In his response, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie appreciated the Forum’s timely intervention and urged councillors to embrace peace, unity, and dialogue in the interest of effective grassroots governance. Hon. Henry Olowo, in turn, assured stakeholders of inclusive, transparent, and democratic leadership focused on restoring harmony within the legislative arm.
