COUNCIL CHAIRMAN FLAGS OFF A 14-DAY FREE MEDICAL AND SURGICAL OUTREACH IN OSHIMILI NORTH LGA OF DELTA STATE.

AKWUKWU-IGBO: The Executive Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, has officially commenced the 3rd edition of the 14-day Free Medical and Surgical Outreach, aimed at improving healthcare access for residents, particularly in rural communities. The programme, in partnership with Cedio Rural Medical Outreach, runs from July 14 to 27, 2025, and provides a range of free medical services including consultations, minor and major surgeries, eye and dental care, laboratory investigations, TB screening, and the provision of essential medications.

The flag-off ceremony was held at the Primary Healthcare Centre in Akwukwu-Igbo, where immediate medical interventions and successful surgeries were conducted. Hon. Esewezie commended the Delta State Government under Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for creating an enabling environment through the M.O.R.E. Agenda, which focuses on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.

The Chief Medical Director of the outreach described the initiative as unprecedented in scope and impact. Additionally, the Council Chairman paid a courtesy visit to HRM Obi Dr. David Azuka, Traditional Ruler of Akwukwu-Igbo, who applauded the humanitarian effort.
