OBUZOR-IN-COUNCIL RECEIVES SECURITY BRIEFING ON THE ONE-WEEK TEMPORARY CURFEW OUTCOME
IBUSA: On June 4, 2025, His Royal Majesty Obi Professor Louis Nwoboshi, the Obuzor of Ibusa, received a delegation of security operatives led by CSP Anthony Adefolalu (DPO, Ibusa) and Captain Musa (Commander, Oshimili North Army Unit). The team briefed the Obuzor-in-Council on the recently concluded week-long curfew imposed to curb rising cult-related violence, following the tragic killing of a young resident.


The curfew, declared by Oshimili North LGA Chairman, Hon. Chief Innocent Esewezie, with security leaders’ backing, aimed at restoring peace. During the visit, security officials reported arrests and profiling of suspected cultists, who were handed over to the State Anti-Cult Unit for investigation. A decline in burglary and petty crimes was also observed. With the plan to extend the curfew by 1 week while the time is adjusted to 9:30pm to 6am agreed by the Obuzor-in-Council.
The Obuzor commended the initiative, affirming his full support. He expressed satisfaction with the positive results and the continued commitment of the security agencies to the safety and stability of Ibusa.
