HONORABLE INNOCENT ESEWEZIE’s A-Z SERVICE DELIVERY IN HIS 3 YEARS IN OFFICE
PREAMBLE – It is no longer a news item that there is an Executive Byelaw tagged “Oshimili North Local Government Public and Private Properties Protection Byelaw 2023 which has been in force since 17th October 2023.
The Byelaw prohibits forceful entry and illegal acquisition of public and private landed properties. It also prohibits violence and fraudulent conducts in relation to public and private landed properties. Furthermore, the Byelaw regulates Real Estate businesses in rural areas within the Council Area.
What is news is how well the Oshimili North Council Administration has been able to implement and enforce the Byelaw that has been widely adjudged to be a “Novel Byelaw”
2️⃣ – BYELAW (Executive)
The implementation of the Oshimili North Local Government Public and Private Properties Protection Byelaw was kickstarted with a One-Day Sensitization Workshop which was aimed at educating the general public on the content of the Byelaw.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie thereafter inaugurated the Surveillance Central Working Committee and the ONLGA Surveillance Taskforce; and also set up the Bureau of Land Records as provided for in the Byelaw. And he charged them to be deligence, professional and carryout their assigned functions within the ambit of the Law.
The attraction of “Ego di n’oshia” led to the unregulated sales of communal lands but the Byelaw has been able to discourage indiscriminate sales of land and also serve as a regulatory body.
The coming of the Byelaw brought with it a sense of security and confidence both to the private and public investors.
Most importantly, the Byelaw provides a legitimate platform for major investors to fulfill their Cooperate Social Responsibility to their host community directly. It is no longer a one-man affair.
The Byelaw has helped to reposition the council area for Industrialization.

THE ROAD TO INDUSTRIALIZATION OF OSHIMILI NORTH IS ON COURSE
Herein lies our main focus.
Oshimili North is blessed with large expanse of very fertile land mass and known majorly for it’s rich agro-potentials. There is need to encourage, support and grow our agro-sector.
Oshimili North also boasts of a number of untapped and unharnessed potential Tourist Attraction Sites.
Oshimili North is very capable of accommodating and thus welcomes citing of industries such as Textile, Footwear, Plastic etc
The Byelaw ESEWEZIE VISION is for a M.O.R.E prosperous Oshimili North LGA.
CONCLUSION

The enactment of this Byelaw depicts the true leadership qualities of Hon. Innocent Esewezie in synergizing with the Legislative Arm of government, the Traditional Institution, the Community Development Unions, the community youth bodies, Religious bodies and all relevant stakeholders in providing a roadmap for community development.
